Tip of the Month: Is your ticketing PC syncing with the cloud?

Hi ,

Last month I shared my thoughts on the move towards an aggregated view of standardised performance metrics.

This month I wanted to share some of the pieces of feedback that we regularly see. If there is any hope that the industry can achieve an aggregated view of data, these items need to be addressed.

  • There are high levels of consistency in definition and data setup and the way that the logic of data is setup at the point of sale for the purposes of data capture by the operator. This is not so much about operator behaviour but rather the logic of data setup.

  • The ease of getting that data into a centralised fashion is inversely disproportionate to the accuracy. The more manual it is, the less accurate it is.

  • Understanding waste flows for data capture is completely different to waste reporting. For example, when you want to report on diversion or generation, the way you capture data at the facility doesn’t necessarily make reporting on diversion particularly easy. So, we are seeing a lot of value we can provide to customers around that.

You’re welcome to chat with us further. Stay tuned for how we progress things in this space.

For me, it’s an exciting time because it means a sign of progress. To achieve the outcomes we need in Australia, the reality is that organisations need to work collaboratively on new infrastructure to support greater recycling outcomes.

    Meet the Team
    Rosemary Black
Meet our Head of Sales and Strategic AccountsRosemary Black. Rosemary has been a valuable part of the team here at Mandalay since 2016. She originally joined us to manage service delivery before moving into our customer management and sales team. Her role within the business is now focused on building relationships with potential customers and supporting the growth of our existing customers.

Rosemary is passionate about making sure people get value for what they are investing in and ensures that as an organisation we are helping people be good at what they do both individually and organisationally. She sees herself as the internal voice of our customers and is always trying to understand what they are looking for and interprets that in a way that either has traction or priority in the business.

Rosemary acknowledges that there tends to be a stigma that salespeople tell you whatever you want to hear, and that’s something she always tries to get away from. So, when she says something, promises something or makes a commitment on behalf of herself or the business, it’s a genuine commitment and she backs herself on it. She invests heavily emotionally with new customers and genuinely cares about them and their success.

While Rosemary is dedicated and very hands-on with customers, Brendon Horswell and our customer success team are there to provide ongoing support throughout their journey. Rosemary feels very positively about Mandalay’s expanded investment in having a dedicated customer success team, because it puts the focus on the customer, ensures they get great value and further builds on strong relationships with us.

On a personal level, Rosemary is passionate about her family, health, and wellbeing. She enjoys eating well, exercising, and she loves Pilates. Her ultimate goal is to find time to complete her Pilates instructor training and teach Pilates on weekends as it’s something she loves.

    Meeting Your Regulatory Requirements
Regulatory Compliance Made Easy with Mandalay
A lot has been happening in the regulatory space over the past few months with several states announcing changes to data capture and reporting requirements.

Mandalay has been working hard to ensure these changes are reflected in the Facility Core Product and Reporting for customers in QLD, NSW, SA, VIC and TAS. We have been communicating directly with customers across these states to ensure everyone is kept up to date.

If you need additional assistance, please reach out to our support team.

    Did You Know?
Did you know that Mandalay provides regulatory reporting solutions to suit almost every state in Australia?

Whether you are required to divide your data by waste composition, waste origin, waste source or by types of waste, we have the data categories and reports to suit each state’s unique regulatory requirements.

    So how does it work?

We build a data pack that we deploy to our customers that allows you to classify your information, data, products etc so that when you record a transaction, all this information is snapshotted in real-time. You can then use this information to produce reports to assist with your regulatory obligations.

But what if the requirements change?

Mandalay is continually working with state regulators and our customers to ensure state-based data packs are current and respond to changes in the relevant legislation.

State-specific regulatory data packs and reports are currently available to customers in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and South Australia. If you would like to find out more, get in touch!

    Tip of the Month
Is my ticketing PC syncing with the cloud?
To ensure the data from your Ticketing PC is correctly syncing with the cloud, it is important to be aware of your sync status.

In the top right hand corner of your ticketing screen you will find a box that shows one of three cloud sync statuses:

    GREEN = In Sync

    ORANGE
= Out of sync for up to 24 hours. Number of hours out of sync will be displayed.

    RED =
Out of sync for more than 24 hours. Number of days out of sync will be displayed.

So, what do you do if your status is orange or red?

First, check to see if you have an internet connection.

If you do have an internet connection, lodge a support ticket with Mandalay and we will jump on to have a look at the problem. Once fixed, it will usually sync up within 10 minutes depending on how long it was out of sync.

If you don't have an internet connection, lodge a support ticket with your internal IT team. Once your internet connection is restored, if your ticketing PC sync status remains out of sync, lodge a support ticket with Mandalay.
