This month...

Hi ,

Welcome to Mandalay's first newsletter for 2025!

While we might be two months into the new year already, we hope 2025 has gotten off to a great start for you and your teams. Looking back at what we achieved together in 2024, we're excited about the opportunities that lie ahead this year.

We're particularly thrilled about Commercial Services and the self-service capability that it now brings to the customers of your facilities. This product is now live in the market and actively being used by our customers. It's been wonderful to see how this solution is already helping waste teams reduce their administration workload and streamline their operations and we’re excited to continue sharing how this product evolves.

Now, let's dive into what we have prepared for you this month – including product updates, helpful tips, and more.

Shire of Broome

Commercial Services in Action

We spoke with the Manager of Waste Services from the Shire of Broome, Myles Mitchell, late last year about the successful implementation and use of the Commercial Services product. Our Commercial Services product gives commercial customers of the Shire of Broome direct digital access to their dockets.

Myles told us that they initially rolled out Commercial Services to their top 20 customers, and they haven’t had to print out any tickets for those customers since, resulting in less administration for their team.

"It’s all on them now. They can keep track of it and raise any queries ahead of time as well." - Myles Mitchell

The main reason for their team deciding to invest in the Commercial Service product was to reduce administration burdens, allowing weighbridge operators to use what little time they had to focus on higher value tasks.

The biggest test involved setting up a new client to keep track of 10,000 tonnes of asbestos entering their facility. Now, thanks to Commercial Services, the client can keep track of what's being delivered to the facility daily, all within one digital platform. It also stops the Shire from needing to send the client a daily report.

"This puts the onus and responsibility on the customer and the waste generator instead of the Shire doing everything. It’s back on them, allowing them to keep track of it." - Myles Mitchell

Their customers have been happy using Commercial Services too according to feedback they have received. It’s making their lives a lot easier. They haven’t needed to support any of their clients through the process either. With help from Brendon at Mandalay, Myles told us they have been well supported through the onboarding process.

Thanks, Myles, for sharing your valuable insights with us. If you're interested in implementing Commercial Services at your facility, contact us to find out more

The new version of the naus Platform will eventually replace your existing naus Platform access providing the following advantages:

  • Enhanced ability to manage your organisation details, group access and users.

  • Continued ability to launch your Mandalay applications.

  • Easily find important links including support and user guides.

  • Stay up-to-date with important information through the new look news and updates.

Plus, naus | my Organisation unlocks the ability to use Federated ID and paves the way for interacting directly with your customers all within a single platform.

Several of our Facility customers have already started using the new naus | my Organisation platform in some capacity.

  • Customers who are using Mandalay’s Federated ID product have already been migrated to the new platform, eliminating the need for managing multiple login credentials and streamlining the onboarding and offboarding process for users.

  • Customers who are using Mandalay’s new Facility Mobile Application to review and edit in-progress transactions utilise the new platform as a key enabler of the product.

  • Several customers have been granted access to naus | my Organisation by another Facility giving them access to their transactions within the Commercial Services Portal.

Mandalay’s Applications Team will be working with customers to transition your organisation across to the new naus | my Organisation platform. Please stay tuned as we embark on this exciting transition.

Product Update

Facility Analytics & Reporting

New Premium Report

A brand new Ticketing Governance Report will be released in March within Premium Reporting. The report will be added as a new report within Security and Audit Reporting.

This report will allow you to gain insights into operator behaviour to identify trends and potential training opportunities. For example, Operators who are performing a lot of ticket replacements due to incorrect information being chosen, could indicate additional training or improvements to master data setup is required.

Detailed information will be circulated when the new report is due for release.

Vehicle Authorisation

New Feature Nearing Release

The new Vehicle Authorisation feature will be available very soon, with customers now beginning to test and offer real world feedback.

As a standard feature that will be rolled out to all customers it will begin to simplify the process associated with managing vehicle authorisations. Watch this video for a quick introduction.

Customers who are using the new naus | my Organisation platform to access Commercial Services will eventually be able to handover the authorisation of vehicles directly to their customers as part of the new Vehicle Authorisation functionality.

We will continue to provide further updates as this new feature continues to evolve.

Hardware Tip of the Month

Install a UPS for Protection

Installing a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) will help to protect your gatehouse hardware from damage due to an unexpected power loss.

During a power failure, a UPS will continue to power a PC, giving you time to safely close applications and shut down the machine.

An 'Online UPS' will add an additional level of protection by providing a continuous and clean power supply to connected equipment.

Remember - a UPS will not replace a power source for an extended period. But it will protect a machine from damage that may be caused by a sudden power loss.

Reporting Tip of the Month

Transaction Search

Include Cancelled Tickets in Search Results

Did you know that cancelled tickets can be included in your search results when searching for tickets in Transaction Search (Facility Management)?

By clicking on the ‘Include Cancelled’ checkbox before you click Search, you will be able to access cancelled ticket information within the Transaction Details page.

When you view a ticket, it will automatically default to the most recent version of the ticket. If previous versions exist, they can be accessed by clicking on the drop-down at the top of the Transaction Details page.

Looking Up Older Transactions

Did you know that you can look up transactions beyond the last three months?

While Transaction Search will default to the previous 3 months, the date filters can be used to search for an alternative date range that is equivalent to 3 months or less.

Read this article to learn more about Transaction Search or reach out to our support team if you’d like some assistance.
