Welcome to our final Mandalay newsletter for 2024!


Merry Christmas! This is my first ‘greeting’ for the Christmas period, so why not make it to all of you at once! Wow – another year has flown by. Life seems only to get faster, right? 

  

Well, if you feel that way too, there is truth to that perception. 

  

But in a tangible way – the rate of change and expectations of you only grow – in all facets of your life, so I completely get your enthusiasm for a break over the Christmas period and to let life slow down, even if only momentarily. 

  

The learning for me this year is that what you wish for doesn’t always come in the form you imagine. I’ve been incredibly grateful for the small moments I've shared with a child or partner, so I hope all of you are able to make some special moments over the Christmas New Year period. 

  

In the increasingly digital world, I value the human relationships we have – be it between our own team or with our customers – and so I want you to know that we as a team truly value all the people we support and are in service of, and wish you the best for the holidays and the year ahead. 


As usual, whilst I try to get as many people to take leave as possible – we have a staffed support desk all throughout the holiday period– for some reason people especially love the excuse of being in the air conditioning. Details of our holiday period hours are found in our newsletter below.

2024 Wrap-Up

Data & Reporting Team

2024 has been a massive year for Mandalay’s Data and Reporting Team with several new reports developed and released across both Standard and Premium Reporting.


13 new standard reports were added throughout the year. These include 3 Data Exports, 6 Paged Reports and 2 Time Sensitive Reports which are available for all customers to use within Facility Management. For customers utilising our  Bulk Waste Booking programme in Resident Services, 2 reports are also now available.  In addition, feature enhancements, additional filtering options and new fields have been released to continually improve the product.

In the Premium reporting space, we have worked with several customers to deliver custom reports to support their specific reporting requirements. In total, 76 custom reports have been delivered to customers during 2024. Each custom report has been designed using the customer’s branding and built to deliver key information in a format to suit specific requirements.

Customers also started using the new and improved Transaction Search tool in Facility Management. Several new features, including the ability to view images that are linked to a transaction, mean searching for detailed ticket information is now even easier. If you’re not yet using this new tool, this article on Mandalay's Customer Service Portal (CSP) provides an overview.


This is just the beginning. Next year is going to be even busier with even more exciting enhancements in the pipeline for our customers. Watch this space.


2024 Wrap-Up

Commercial Services, Facilities & Residents Teams

Mandalay’s other product teams have also been working hard this year on new products and new features.

Commercial Services Team

With several facilities now using Commercial Services to give their customers direct access to transaction information, this team has been continually working to release feature enhancements. Working directly with customers has allowed our team to identify real-world challenges that are being overcome through the use of Commercial Services.

Facilities Team

Aligning with the work being delivered within the Commercial Services product, both teams are now working together in order to release Vehicle Authorisation. Once available, it will simplify the process associated with managing vehicle authorisations and add security to your customers’ accounts. This feature will be available soon.

Residents Team

In addition to the ongoing support from our Residents Team to help customers with their existing entitlement programmes, 2024 has seen considerable work being conducted to enhance the Bulk Waste Bookings Programme. This product allows you to capture and process bulk waste, hard rubbish, or verge collection pick-up requests while linking bookings to a specific resident and address.

Is Your Organisation Disaster Ready?


Now is the time to prepare for the likelihood of floods, severe storm damage, fires and dust storms. 


During disasters, there is little time to react. Planning in advance will ensure better outcomes. 


How prepared are your facilities for disaster? 

  • Do you have a disaster plan in place for your waste facilities? 

  • What approach do you have for measuring volumes and transactional movements of waste? 

  • What is your communication plan if disaster hits? 

  • How will you manage pre-emptive free tipping or clean up days as part of your disaster response strategy? 


Having the tools ready in advance of an event will limit the effort required when disaster strikes.
