Hi ,

Welcome to the latest Mandalay newsletter!

One of our biggest strengths here at Mandalay is our team who are all extremely passionate about and dedicated to what we do.

Never was this more evident than the other day when there was a significant Microsoft Azure outage that impacted several organisations in Australia, including many banking and airline customers, as well as Mandalay’s customers. The incident lasted for more than 24 hours, which is a significant amount of time.

Our team was aware of this on the night it occurred and were already making plans on how to support our customers the next day if it wasn’t resolved. When it wasn’t resolved by the morning, we had a team of more than 12 staff working in the background monitoring, communicating with Microsoft and providing updates to customers throughout. Everyone simply got stuck in and worked tirelessly until all services were reconnected.

Of course, our product did what it is meant to do as well. Some of our customer's operators may have noticed the offline status on their facility machines but were able to continue operating in an offline capacity. This was due to mandalay’s 60-day offline capability and once systems were restored, data was able to resync with the cloud.

I’m extremely proud of how everyone came together to respond. In the end because of our team and our product, our customers got through this event with little to no impact.

We've got your back.

Facility Analytics & Reporting

Recently Added Reports

Based on the feedback we receive from customers, we continue to release updates to the reports available within the Facility Analytics & Reporting product.

Cartage Report

During July a new Cartage Report was released allowing customers who have a cartage business or cartage component within their business to report on cartage more accurately.

This report is available within Standard Operational Reporting and offers data fields that allow you to report on the cartage component of transactions.

More information about this new report is available within this article on Mandalay’s Customer Service Portal.

Paged Reports

Paged Reports were released towards the end of August and can be found as a new menu option within Facility Management. There are currently two reports available that will aggregate your data in a styled format with page breaks between each client. These reports will generate as a PDF.

More information about Paged Reports is available within this article on Mandalay’s Customer Service Portal.

Please reach out to Mandalay’s Support Team if you need assistance with either of these reports.

Meet the Team

Selena Graham

This month we’re introducing you to another member of our Technical Team, Selena Graham.

Selena loves working in IT as its diverse, always changing and is an industry she can see herself working in for many years to come. Before joining the team almost 18 months ago, one of the reasons that made Mandalay stand out was the diversity.

From working with facility hardware integrations through to the ticketing application, reporting, Azure and Power BI, there is a broad range of systems in use and working closely with other teams provides an opportunity to continue learning.

In addition to supporting customers with their requests for technical support, Selena and the team also work closely with Mandalay’s Applications and Projects teams. In fact, all members of Mandalay’s Technical Team initially spend time working alongside the Applications Team to ensure they have a detailed understanding of the applications that we deliver and support.

Being based in Brisbane means that Selena will often spend time in the Brisbane office preparing new hardware before being shipped to site. She also enjoys going out to site as it provides an opportunity to see different setups and environments, along with seeing everything working together.

When it came time to choose a photo to include with the article Selena found it challenging to locate one that didn’t include one or more of her 2 dogs and 7 chickens! So, joining her on this occasion is Nero.

Thank you for being another important member of the team Selena!

Recent Mandalay User Forum

Thank You WA

To coincide with the recent Waste & Recycle Conference in Perth, we were very fortunate to have an opportunity to connect with customers in person at a Mandalay User Forum. It has been quite a while since running our last event and it was very exciting to get these kicked off again.

Mandalay User Forums are delivered as an interactive workshop style event where we review priorities, identify current and future challenges, and opportunities to improve the operation of facilities.

The forum also offered an opportunity to share some of the future functionality that we’re investing in and the ongoing work we’re doing around improving our reporting suite.

We received some very positive feedback from the event and will be looking to run a number of these in other states across the remainder of the year and into early next. A huge thanks to everyone able to attend. If we missed you, hopefully we will catch you at a future event.

Stay tuned for future Mandalay events.

New Product in Development

We are very excited to report that work is progressing on our new Commercial Services product.

If you haven’t already seen it, head over to the naus Platform where you can watch a short introduction video. Be sure to keep your eye out for the next video which will give you a tour of the product.

A beta testing program will commence shortly with some early adopter customers.

We will continue to provide updates via the naus Platform as this exciting new product comes to life.

Out and About

with Mandalay's Application Specialists

Mandalay’s Application Specialists continue to spend time with customers supporting them with new implementations, delivering training (both new and re-fresher training) and are often right there to offer support during go-live. It’s always very busy and the team loves getting out and about to ensure that everyone interacting with Mandalay’s products are confident and supported.

This month, Kumar has been onsite with the team at Terraco Resources providing training and support during go-live. This was a significant change for the team, but Kumar was right there to support their transition.

Kumar also spent time in North Queensland delivering refresher training to one of our council customers and then joined Brendon Horswell to attend the recent LAWMAC meeting hosted by Hinchinbrook Shire Council. It was great to check in with everyone who attended from across the region.

Shelby also headed north to provide some refresher training and assist customers with their reporting requirements

Tip of the Month

Vehicle Expiry

Did you know that within the Facility Core Product (Mandalay CS) there is a way to automatically set an unused vehicle record to be inactive?

Why is this important?

Active vehicle registrations will load each time you return to the IN screen. If there are lots of active vehicles, it can mean that your operators will need a bit longer to search, as the system  works to load all active registrations.

it can mean that your operators will experience slowness in the system while it works to load all active registrations.

What can you do?

It is possible to set the number of days that a vehicle will remain active in your system. Once the expiry period has been reached, if there have been no changes made to the vehicle record it will be set to inactive.

Vehicle expiry can be set on a per vehicle basis or as a system wide default setting. When a vehicle record is set to inactive, it will not be deleted.

Contact the Mandalay Support Team if you would like to explore this option further.
