JUNE 2021 NEWSLETTER

Hi ,

In this months newsletter

Is your facility ready for July 1; and

We provide a wrap-up from the ALTS Conference.

Welcome to the end of another Financial Year
Speaking from Mandalay’s perspective, despite all of the uncertainty around the pandemic it has been one of our most successful years and I am tremendously proud of the
way our team has adapted to working in this new dynamic environment. I hope that the year has been successful for you and that you are finishing the financial year with not too much disruption.

For us as an organisation heading into the next financial year, there are three things I’d like to highlight that are really important to us and that we would like to achieve in the coming 12 months.

An increase in customer engagement with current customers
We have put more resources in place and are developing more structure and systems to support your success and your successful adoption of our product suites. I think this is terribly important as we help you derive more value out of your investment with us.

Building a deeper engagement with Mandalay’s product development
The second item and something I am very focused on is seeing how we can expose more of our internal systems and processes in terms of product development with our customers to build a deeper engagement with us in our product focus, our priorities and what we are doing and why.

Mandalay is very much focused on our current customers and really solving their needs. To do that we need to have a deep engagement with you, our customer.

Living up to our mantle of ‘Beyond the Weighbridge’
A lot of the products we’re currently looking at are beyond the weighbridge, on either side of that spectrum, either within the site or digitising the relationship with customers coming into the site. There is some really exciting innovation coming that I look forward to sharing. I think this will make a big difference in the way you service your customers within your communities.

We look forward to the next 12 months and as always I am terribly appreciative of your support for our people, for our business and for me personally. Thank you for that relationship.

Australian Landfill & Transfer Station Conference (ALTS)
Wrap Up
Following Simon’s attendance at the ALTS Conference in Sydney earlier this month, one thing we see more and more is the increasing professionalism of industry conferences, something that
causes us to be really proud of being part of the industry.

There was a huge focus on the role of landfills and disaster waste management in respect to a number of the disasters that have occurred particularly in New South Wales over the preceding 12-18 months.

Another item that really stood out, in addition to the evolution of related technologies around landfill and landfill management, was the ongoing and increasing compliance obligations and reporting requirements of landfills. Plus, the key role that landfills have in their relationship with community and social license.

You can see a number of issues in Sydney with one well-reported landfill and how that impacts the perception of the community in relation to landfills. But they are still an essential part of waste management for the foreseeable future. Therefore the role of compliance and reporting and that engagement with community will be a really critical one as we service the waste needs of the community.
