What does Mandalay's ISO27001 Certification mean for you?

Hi ,

It’s been wonderful to catch up with customers at different forums over recent weeks. I was listening in to one group of Councils in particular, and the subject was around the difficulty of trying to achieve a certain diversion rate out of 100% despite there being a levy in place and significant government funding to support programs. It occurred to me that perhaps we are thinking about the problem wrong.

If you think about it in sporting terms, at different times throughout history, sports people have been able to achieve superhuman performance to redefine what is considered normal. A recent illustration of this was the Nike project called Breaking2 which was about supporting the athlete Eliud Kipchoge to break the 2-hour record in the marathon, which was previously considered impossible.

How that relates to waste is that we think about diversion as a percentage of 100%, but if we’re seeing multiple re-uses in the community, isn’t it possible in real terms that we can actually achieve a diversion rate of more than 100%? Shouldn’t we be striving for that? If you’re interested in my thoughts on this, I’ll be speaking on this subject at the upcoming 2022 ENVIRO Conference in Canberra.

Wishing you a successful week.

Waste Coordinator for Ashburton District Council, Melissa Cusack recently expressed her thanks with our team for their new system.

“The whole process has been so smooth and easy, even with all the covid delays and dramas. My team are loving the new system, especially how easy it is to use and the support & training you have given them.
My young 80-year-old May is absolutely thrilled that she understands it and how easy it is for her to use. She thought she would struggle, but with the training and support she has received, she is over the moon.

Once again, thank you so much. I will be highly recommending Mandalay as the go-to system for Waste Management software. You guys are amazing!!!!”

Thanks for the amazing review, Melissa! Learn more about Ashburton District Council and their Waste Management services.
    Meet the Team
    Trevor Rowler

Say hi to our Project Lead, Trevor Rowler. In his role, Trevor looks after multiple projects in addition to taking care of some of Mandalay’s newest customers. Most of Trevor’s time is focused on implementing our solution into local Councils across Australia.

On a typical day, Trevor coordinates the completion of tasks with the broader project team, reaches out to customers to stay on top of any issues or concerns, and does the running around to ensure projects remain on track. Working with customers across the country can be challenging but with the processes Mandalay has in place, Trevor works alongside teams (on both sides) to ensure successful project delivery.

Trevor also deals with procurement and is involved in allocating hardware to projects based on their scope of work. This could mean taking delivery of components, working with Mandalay’s electrical contractor to ensure items are built to spec or shipping items off to facilities for installation.

Trevor started with Mandalay in December 2021 and comes to us after working for over 14 years with the Queensland government. In his downtime, Trevor enjoys spending time with his family and helping his community. You will find Trevor, most weekends, at the football field coaching his kid's AFL team, or getting out and about, camping or visiting new places. Trevor loves being a part of the Mandalay family and hopes all of his customers do too.
    Wrap-up from FY22
From Mandalay's Applications & Project Teams
For Mandalay’s Applications Team and Technical & Projects Team, it was a very busy month leading into the end of FY22.

    • There are several new sites that have gone live or will be going live very soon with Project Delivery, Implementation, Support and Training all playing big roles.
    • New sites mean training new users. Kumar has been working hard to get everyone ready to go and so far, there have been more than 30 new users start using the system since mid-June.
    • A new Financial Year means new season pricing. Our Support Team has been there to support customers in making necessary changes in preparation.
    • Along with providing support to customers issuing or getting ready to issue new waste vouchers to their communities.

Mandalay is here to support you, so if you have questions, need assistance, or run into any trouble reach out to our Support Team. If they’re unable to help with your query they will connect you with the team who can.
    Mandalay's FM Data Export Product
    Start Using it Now!
Since the launch of our FM Data Export Product earlier this year, 30+ customers have used the tool to export more than 110 reports. The largest of these reports contained well over 2 million rows of data which shows the scale and usability that this tool is capable of!

    The
FM Data Export Product  is designed to export data. It runs in the background so you can work on other tasks, and you will receive an email once the data is ready to access.

Every customer now has access to this tool via the Facility Management tile within the naus Platform. If you don’t have this tile, reach out to your internal Mandalay System Administrator to request access.
Get in touch if you'd like to learn more about how you can access the tool and make the most of it.
    Tip of the Month
    Ticketing With No Internet Connection
Did you know your site PCs used for ticketing will continue to work even when not connected to the cloud?

Site PCs are able to utilise a locally held database should a site lose connectivity and be unable to sync to the cloud.

Ticketing will continue to work for up to 60 days with no connection to the cloud. However, we recommend monitoring your PC sync status to ensure all data changes and transactions are syncing again in a reasonable time to allow for timely and accurate reporting and effective master data changes.
