Hi ,

Welcome to the latest Mandalay newsletter!

This month I wanted to share with you the power of habits.

The past couple of years have presented several significant challenges. Things that are out of my control have added pressure and really tested me as to how I show up in the various roles in life – particularly how I show up at my best.

There can be a tendency to feel overwhelmed but it’s in those moments that you need to find new behaviours to support you through those difficult times. Following what I have learnt from James Clear’s Atomic Habits, one of the things I’ve been doing each morning is a single yoga stretch and 10 push-ups which as small as that sounds has become a building block for me to make my days and relationships more successful. As simple as it sounds, it's been a win as I get out of bed – and is now something my 2-year-old enjoys sharing in. So, I get a double win of a special moment with him!

I haven’t met people who aren’t finding the current period challenging in one aspect of their life or another... so I’d encourage you to take a moment to reflect. As you think about the year ahead, even the smallest of practices can be massive over time and can work as building blocks for change. What’s one small behaviour that you might be able to incorporate into your daily life to support your success?

Meet the Team

David Miller

With nearly 7 years at Mandalay, David Miller wears multiple hats as the development manager and technical lead.

His current major focus is leading the implementation of the new Federated ID product, which will allow customers to sign in using their council-managed identities.

David oversees the development team and is responsible for technical decision making across the organisation. He is hands-on, prototyping and architecting solutions while managing the day-to-day work of his team of developers and engineers.

Prior to Mandalay, David spent a decade as a consultant specialising in information management, workflow, and productivity solutions for government and commercial clients. He was previously a business owner in the consulting space as well.

An avid photographer, David has travelled the world capturing beautiful landscapes and wildlife with his camera equipment. Some of his favourite destinations include Iceland, U.S. national parks, and he hopes to add Africa to the list in the next couple of years. When not writing code or globetrotting, David indulges his self-described 'nerdy' interests in mathematics, physics and science.

Proactive Hardware Reviews

Keeping Your Hardware Up-to-Date

As you finalise budgets for this end of financial year, we want to send a quick reminder that now is a good time to begin reviewing the warranty and remaining useful life of hardware critical to your site’s operation.

We continually conduct proactive reviews of the warranty status of assets we have supplied to our customers throughout the year, but if you find a device that is out of warranty or about to exceed its warranty, get in touch to receive a replacement from us.

Out of warranty devices can expose various risks to your business including increased downtime due to lack of support from the manufacturers if these units are to fail. To mitigate these risks, we recommend that out of warranty devices be replaced.

Contact us to discuss a replacement plan for your equipment and ensure your waste management system runs smoothly.
