Hi ,

Welcome to the latest Mandalay newsletter!

Of late we’ve had many opportunities to spend time onsite with customers which is always my favourite part of the role.

When speaking with customers about some of the issues they’re facing, one of the things we’re hearing more often is the increased delay in account payments and then potential bad debt. It’s been an issue that has affected us too this year, which is the first time in a long time.

We have unfortunately seen several scenarios where our customers’ credit limits have been exceeded. Procedures weren’t in place to avoid the problem from happening and the process wasn’t there to rectify it when it did.

Now would be a good time to review your credit policies and the procedures you have in place around how your accounts are managed. Setting monthly sales limits in our system or managing credit limits through an integration with your finance system are both options. We’re now seeing more customers who are starting to increase their integration with us with a view to limit the risk that they are facing with bad debt.

We’re here to support you and your business. As always, feel free to contact me to discuss further.

New Customer Story

ACT NoWaste

We’re excited to welcome ACT NoWaste who recently began using Mandalay’s suite of products at their Mugga Lane and Mitchell facilities.

The sites officially went live during May and the ACT NoWaste team has already begun to meet with our Head of Customer Success, Brendon Horswell, so he can support them on their Mandalay journey.

Claudia Haggarty – Director, Business Analytics & Systems at ACT NoWaste recently shared that the biggest pro for Mandalay has been the customer support. Support in general has been fantastic from both the team who sits behind the Zendesk tickets and customer success. During their most recent customer success meeting they were able to work through and resolve a few outstanding issues within an hour.

We’re looking forward to working closely with ACT NoWaste to support them in achieving their sustainability goals

Facility Analytics & Reporting

Introducing Time Sensitive Reporting

Based on feedback we’ve received from customers, several new reports have been released within the Facility Analytics & Reporting product to service time-sensitive needs.

Time Sensitive Reporting provides a current view of the transactions flowing into your system, with data becoming available as soon as it has synced to the cloud.

These reports are a Standard inclusion and can be accessed from the left-hand menu within Facility Management. If you’re unable to see this group of reports, contact your Mandalay Administrator as your Facility Management permissions may need to be updated.

More information about this new group of reports is available within this article on Mandalay’s Customer Service Portal

Please reach out to Mandalay's Support Team if you need assistance.

Meet the Team

Jamie Tidmarsh

This month we’d like to introduce a member of our Technical Team, Jamie Tidmarsh. Jamie has been part of the Mandalay team for just over one year and works very closely with our customers and Mandalay’s Applications and Projects teams delivering technical and production support.

Jamie actions support requests associated with technology and hardware connections. If you’re experiencing issues linked to hardware that integrates with Mandalay’s Facility Core Product (Ticketing) such as boom gates, traffic lights, scales, or cameras, Jamie or one of the members in our Technical team will work with you to resolve the issue.

He also plays an important role within new project implementations, getting new hardware ready prior to being shipped to site. This involves installing Mandalay software, assigning IP addresses and configuring settings so they are ready to be installed and used. Equipment could include Point of Sale PC’s, relay cards to control traffic lights and boom gates or Mandalay built Driver Control Station (DCS) units depending on client requirements.

Jamie loves the remote aspect of his role which allows him to spend more time with his young son, and he has a passion for gaming which is what initially inspired him to embark on a role in technology. Supporting customers across Australia means there is lots of variety and he enjoys working directly with customers so will often pick up the phone to work through a support ticket.

Thanks for your valuable contribution Jamie, and for working alongside several Mandalay teams to support our customers!

Travel Miles

On the Road with Customer Success &
Mitchell Shire Council's New Facility

As Mandalay’s Head of Customer Success, spending time with customers in person allows Brendon to understand operations in more detail, identify and work through challenges, and ultimately help customers to work towards their strategic goals.

Following the ALTS Conference in Melbourne, Brendon took the opportunity to visit some of our Victorian customers. While he wasn’t able to spend time with everyone, he did manage to visit several customers and facilities across the region including the recently opened Seymour Resource Recovery Centre at Mitchell Shire Council

This new facility is an incredible addition offering residents within Mitchell Shire and neighbouring council areas the ability to contribute towards the region's sustainability goals.

The team at Mitchell have released a video walkthrough of the facility. Watch it here

Tip of the Month

Implementing Credit Controls

Effectively managing account customers will limit your exposure to overdue accounts and bad debt. Mandalay offers a range of features to assist you in adequately managing these risks within the Facility Core Product.

Integrations

A two-way integration with your finance system can allow you to automate the placing of account customers on credit stop. Once your dedicated finance system determines that a debtor account holder should not be able to transact against their account, an integration can reflect this in Mandalay by way of placing the account on Credit Stop.

Monthly Sales Limits

A monetary value can be applied to a client's record that will set how much they can spend per month via a Monthly Sales Limit. The limit may be set at a ‘per site’ or enterprise level and once exceeded, automatically adds a warning alert if the monthly spend limit has been reached.

Read this article on Mandalay's Customer Service Portal for more detail.
